Pilot Ranks & Requirements

Pilots who have achieved a rank based on the previous flying hours requirement will maintain that rank.  For those pilots the time requirements listed below apply only to subsequent ranks.  Coursework and practical exams can be done at any time but hours will be awarded once the pilot has reached or exceeded the rank to which they apply (as identified below).  It is highly recommended that the practical exam for course 4 be done only after there has been adequate practice (see Course 4 - Advanced Aviation Knowledge and Practice   for further information on the course content and practical exam).

Pilots who complete each course (and any associated practical exam) will also earn the associated Certified Virtual Pilot level.
